5-6 Students Want You To Make A Difference and Pay It Forward

Last quarter students were working on creating a plan using their creative thinking
strategies that would help them change the world. Some of the students put their
plan into action and are seeing results. One student was on the news and two more
students received a visit from the Ahwatukee Foothills News and ABC 15. We also
collected ideas for how we can put a plan into action during Spring Fling and a few
students came up with an amazing idea that will be revealed that evening. Please
talk with your child about their idea and ask them what you can do as a family to
make their idea come to fruition. Many students have written to local papers asking
for help, others have used their parents’ FaceBook accounts (we have talked about
how it is safer to utilize an adult’s account and you are supposed to be 13 to have an
account) to reach out and ask for help or donations, and others have done simple
acts of kindness whenever they can. Random acts of kindness and paying it forward
help our students to become better citizens and leaders. The students have been
focusing on our leadership standard of identifying ways in which his or her behaviors
influence others in their family and community. Please help support these values by
modeling kindness and paying it forward, as you are the best role model for child.
