We just loved this letter that we received last week we wanted to share it with all of you! Enjoy!
Dear Mrs. Emmons,
I want to commend you, your staff & especially your students for doing the most amazing thing!
I am the owner of K4 Fitness teaching fitness classes all over the valley. On Thursday, March 8th, I was teaching class on the basketball court at Pecos Park. We finish at 9:45 a.m., a few minutes before the Horizon Honors P.E. class arrives at the same location. I see them there every Tuesday and Thursday. This week, however, there was a different teacher. I was pre-occupied & left my 800 watt amplifier along with my brand new ipod Classic sitting in the grass. An hour later, I realized what I had done. I drove to Pecos Park knowing there was no chance I’d get them back. After all, this was $850 worth of electronic equipment that anyone would be thrilled to have. Upon my return, the groundskeeper told me he saw two boys wheeling my box away. I went into Pecos Community Center and inquired. To my amazement, the boys wheeled my equipment to safety and reported it to the staff.
I was in tears – not because I had my equipment returned but because someone cared to do the right thing. I am so uplifted to see first hand the hard work you instill in your students to do things because it’s the right thing to do and no other reason than that. Our society has fallen prey to so many negative behaviours, it’s all you see or hear. How wonderful, how amazing, how something so simple speaks so LOUDLY.
KUDDOS….many thanks for demostrationing how simple a little deed can make all the difference in someone’s life! I have told everyone in all my classes the last two days what a wonderful thing that happened at Horizon Community Learning Center. That life skill that you teach your students means more than any test scores or marketing strategies. Thank you for caring, so many people could use this lesson as encouragement that yes – there are values still being taught in today’s society.
