To apply for enrollment for the 2017-2018 school year, parents must submit an Enrollment Application for their student.

Parents will receive an automated e-mail immediately after the application is received. After application submission, a staff member will contact parents with enrollment opportunities for their child. 


Who may enroll at Horizon Honors?

Horizon Honors schools are open to all K-12 students residing in Arizona. Enrollment is not limited based upon ethnicity, national origin, gender, income level, disabling condition, proficiency in the English language, or athletic ability.

Please note there are some age requirements for the 2017-2018 school year:

  • Kindergarten students must turn 5 years old on or by August 31, 2017
  • 1st Grade students must turn 6 years old on or by August 31, 2017

Are campus tours available?

Yes! Schedule a tour of the Elementary School or Secondary School school here. 


What do I do if my child receives a space?

Congratulations, your student is now allowed to register for the 2017-2018 school year! After being contacted, you will have 24 hours to accept your space, and 48 hours to submit your paperwork, including birth certificate, registration form, and immunization records.


What if my child is on the waiting list?

Depending on space availability, there are sometimes wait lists for some grade levels. When a space becomes available, the parents of the first student on the waiting list will be called. If that student declines his/her space, then the next student will be called, etc. Students will remain on the waiting list for the entire 2017-2018 school year. Families who do not receive a spot during the 2017-2018 school year must complete the enrollment process again for the 2018-2019 school year.


What if one of my children receives a spot, but a sibling is on the waiting list?

Horizon Honors expects a high level of parental involvement in the learning process. In recognition of this commitment, enrollment preference is given to siblings of students enrolled if there is space available.


Can my child be placed at a grade higher/lower based on his/her ability level instead of age?

Students are placed according to age, the last grade completed, and pre-assessment scores.


Why doesn’t the waiting list roll over from year to year?

The waiting list restarts every year for a number of reasons. We are not always sure if families are still interested in Horizon Honors for the following school year. We also make changes to curriculum, activities, etc. and want to make sure that families come to an Info Session, get notified of the changes, and complete an enrollment application. Finally, having a Lottery each year is the only fair way to guarantee space availability.
