As we continue our preparations for the 2024-2025 school year, we are excited to share some significant changes to the Horizon Honors Schools Leadership Team.
After 13 years of dedicated service, Betsy Fera has decided to retire from her role as Executive Director of Horizon Honors Schools. Under her leadership, our students have achieved remarkable success, and we are deeply grateful for her contributions. Betsy will continue her passion for education in a new position where she will support schools throughout the country in their efforts to improve and grow. We extend our heartfelt best wishes to her in her future endeavors.
We are pleased to announce that Paul Schneider has been named the new Executive Director of Horizon Honors Schools by the Horizon Community Learning Center Corporate Board. Paul has served Horizon Honors since 2007, most recently as the Secondary School Principal. He brings a wealth of educational and leadership experience to his new role and is proud to continue the Horizon Honors legacy of academic excellence and innovation. We are confident in Paul’s ability to guide our schools to continued advancements and accolades.
Additionally, Stacy Dietz will now serve as the new Horizon Honors Secondary School Principal (Grades 7-12). Stacy has been with Horizon Honors since 2007, successfully serving as Secondary School Assistant Principal last school year. For the time being, the responsibilities of the Secondary School Assistant Principal will be managed by the Secondary School Leadership Team.
Finally, Suzie Davis has been named the new Horizon Honors Elementary School Assistant Principal. Suzie, who has been with us for 24 years, brings a deep understanding of our Elementary program to her new position. Former Elementary School Assistant Principal Kevin Burdette will continue to be an invaluable part of Horizon Honors as he returns to his teaching roots as an Elementary Physical Education Teacher.
We trust that these seasoned Horizon Honors veterans will continue to lead our schools forward and will make this transition seamless for our students and staff.
Thank you for being part of the Horizon Honors community, the best place for students to Learn, Believe, Dream, and Dare. Enjoy your July 4th celebrations and we look forward to seeing you for the first day of school on Monday, July 29th!
