Horizon Community Learning Center (doing business as Horizon Honors Schools) is the charter holder for two schools: Horizon Honors Elementary School (Grades K-6) and Horizon Honors Secondary School (Grades 7-12). The charter is organized with the following authoritative structure:

Horizon Honors School Board:

The Horizon Honors School Board is comprised of four members:
  • Bill Thompson, President
  • Fred Neal*, Vice President
  • Pilar Holtrop, Member
  • Brittany Stotler, Member

    The Corporate Board of Directors appoints the board members for a two-year term.

    The School Board is responsible for the oversight of the schools' programs and operations including all student, personnel, and financial responsibilities. Individuals interested in contacting the Board Members are encouraged to speak during public comment during Board Meetings. Individuals may also send an email to board at horizonhonors.org. All board members as well as the Horizon Honors Executive Director will receive all emails sent to this address. The Board is a collective body and individual Board member replies may be unavailable, limited, or not be representative of the position of the entire Board. Horizon Honors staff members may follow up as appropriate. The email will be filed in accordance with public records requirements.

    Disclosure Statement:
    School Board Meetings are held once a month at 5 p.m. in the Main Office (unless otherwise noted) on the dates listed below. Per A.R.S. §38-431.02, all notices of the meetings for Horizon Honors Schools Board will be posted on this website. Notices will also be posted outside the Horizon Honors Main Office door at 16233 South 48th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85048, which is open to the public. Such notices will indicate the date, time, and place of the meeting and will include an agenda. Agendas for scheduled meetings will be posted at least 24 hours before the meeting time.

    • Minutes from the meetings are available by request in the Main Office.
    • Persons with disabilities may request reasonable accommodation, such as a sign language interpreter, by emailing news at horizonhonors.org.  Requests should be made as early as possible to allow time to arrange accommodation.
